Our Mandate
The Employment Insurance Board of Appeal (EIBOA) provides a client-centred and simple appeal process for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
The EIBOA is an impartial administrative tribunal, composed of three-member panels, each including representatives from the government, employers, and workers’ communities. These panels make decisions on first-level EI appeals for Canadians nationwide. Hearings are conducted by members regionally dispersed throughout Canada who have knowledge of the appellant’s regional economic factors and labor market information.
